You Are What You EatMy father and mother reared five children during the depression. We were reared basically to work hard and do what was right. My mother took the responsibility to take us to church and Dad taught us to work. Mother prayed secretly that Daddy and we would all be saved from hell and attend the local Independent Baptist Church in our community. I was saved, but I was always unsure of what God wanted from me. In 1984, I attended a Thanksgiving Conference of the church in Irving, Texas shared by Witness Lee. At that conference, I saw a group of people who were wholly for the Lord. They were enjoying the Lord to the uttermost. They were having a feast and the Lord was the feast (John 6:57). The reality of the two trees in Genesis was so precious when I saw I had been eating from the wrong tree all my human life. It was no wonder I could never grow or mature, because I was eating the wrong food (the tree of knowledge). On the other hand, eating the tree of life imparts the eternal life of God into me so I may have the growth in life to be a child, a son, and then heir of all that Christ is.
